Our cyber security specialists are a mixture of seasoned veterans, many with 30+ years’ experience in IT, management and security. We also have young faces on the team, our rising stars–those whose talents we recognised early and chose to invest in.
Beyond being experts in their fields, our people share a few things in common, a result of how we hire. Prior to any skills being tested in an interview, we look for personable people. Authentic, honest people who are passionate about their field and good communicators. In other words, we look for people who light up when they talk about their line of work. Alex Woerndle
CEO, Co-Founder
Alex is an experienced director, IT consultant and infosec professional. He provides security management and leadership to a range of organisations from start-ups through to governments and ASX50 listed enterprises. He has also served over 10 years in voluntary roles as a Non-Executive Director of the Australian Information Security Association,.au Domain Administration Ltd and the Australian Conservation Foundation’s Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
Carl Woerndle
Managing Director / Co-Founder
Carl is a security consultant with more than three decades’ experience in IT, cyber security and business development. As well as a business owner and manager, he has advised and mentored individuals and teams in organisations from start-ups through to governments and ASX50 listed enterprises. Carl has also worked as a Cyber Security Advisor consultant for Deloitte and is a regular keynote speaker on cyber security.
Chris Self
COO
Chris is a highly experienced information security principal. He has worked as a senior cyber security consultant for KPMG, CQR Consulting (now part of CyberCX) and Deloitte. Prior to starting with MyEmpire Group, he was the Information Security Manager at Adelaide Airport where he led a full rebuild of the airport’s cyber security processes and infrastructure. Chris holds a master’s in information systems security and a number of information security certifications, including CISSP and CRISC.

George Aslanis
Senior Cyber Security Consultant
George is an experienced IT and security consultant with over two decades’ experience in the tech sector. He specialises in cyber security project management and governance, risk and compliance (GRC). He has worked as a GRC Analyst, ISO 27001 project lead, and regularly conducts privacy and risk assessments, including Gap Assessments for NIST CSF and Essential 8. Over his career, George has gained several technology and security certifications, including CISSP, CISM, PMP and CSM.
Chirayu Brahmbhatt
Senior Cyber Security Consultant
Chirayu is an expert cyber security auditor and consultant with 15 years of experience in information technology. He is a PECB-certified Senior ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, Apple Certified Mac Technician, and Microsoft SharePoint Administrator. Chirayu has conducted over 100 ISMS certification audits across diverse industries and has been Project Lead on numerous Essential 8 assessments. He holds a degree in Data Science from RMIT University, an MBA in International Business from AIS, New Zealand, and an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering from Deakin.
Chloe Hatzis
Cyber Security Consultant
Chloe is an experienced cyber security consultant with a decade working in cyber security, cyberlaw and business operations. She holds an LLB (Hons) and specialises in privacy and data protection, and governance, risk and compliance (GRC). As well as working as a Cyber Security Consultant for MyEmpire Group, Chloe is the Deputy Chair of the Australian Information Security Association (AISA).
Filipe Franco
Cyber Security Consultant
Filipe has over two decades’ experience as a network administrator, systems engineer and IT manager. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and has worked in Portugal, South Africa, and Australia, gaining IT experience in numerous industries, including logistics, education and insurance. Prior to joining MyEmpire Group, Filipe worked at Adelaide Airport for 7 years as a System Administrator, and later Information Security Analyst. During this period, he was involved in the complete rebuild of Adelaide Airport’s security.
John Le
Cyber Security Consultant
John is an experienced IT network and systems engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Adelaide. He first worked as a Network/Systems Engineer at Netcraft Australia, an IT solutions provider, where he gained close to a decade of experience developing, implementing and maintaining IT infrastructures and networks. John then did an almost equally long stint at Adelaide Airport where he worked his way up to Senior Network Administrator and was involved in the complete rebuild of the airport’s security.
Paul Leitao
Penetration Testing Lead
Paul is a security professional with over two decades’ experience in cyber security and 5 years’ experience as a systems and network administrator. He specialises in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, intrusion detection, incident handling, and SOC uplift. Paul has led pen testing projects for some of Australia’s largest financial institutions, including ANZ Bank. He has also worked as a security expert across numerous other industries, including construction, telecommunications, government and higher education. Major clients include NBN, Victoria Police and Monash University.
Brianna Prest
Cyber Security Consultant
Brianna graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Cybersecurity and a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics). During her studies she was chosen to take part in a cyber security scholarship program with the Australian Defence Force. She joined MyEmpire Group in 2022 as a Cyber Security Analyst with a focus on cyber security governance, risk and compliance. Brianna specialises in assisting organisations with risk management, aligning their security practices with industry frameworks, and developing and maintaining robust governance frameworks.
Patrick Rohan
Cyber Security Consultant
Patrick is a cyber security specialist with experience in cyber advisory and auditing. He holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from RMIT University and has worked for KPMG’s cyber practice for over 3 years. Patrick has worked on cyber security engagements spanning Australia’s financial, energy and government sectors, where he helped organisations build cyber resilience, uplift the maturity of their cyber capabilities, and enhance their ability to report on cyber security risks. He has knowledge of Essential 8 and industry-recognised standards, CPS234 and NIST.
